Beare and Son is one of the oldest violin businesses in the UK, having been established at 32 Brewer Street, London in 1865.
The company moved to Rathbone Place (just off Oxford Street) in 1881. The photo on the right shows the Rathbone Place shop front around 1913.
After moving out of central London to Barnet in 1975, and then after a short spell in Hemel Hempstead we moved to our current premises in Dunstable, Bedfordshire in 1994.
We currently supply over 2000 items for retailers, instrument makers and repairers, teachers and players, from student to professional.
